tirwel is a CMLI led landscape consultancy whose services cover landscape planning, landscape design and subconsultancy support. We carry out Feasibility Studies, Landscape and Visual Appraisals or Impact Assessments, Landscape Character Assessments, Viewpoint Photography, Planning Appeal Statements, Expert Witness Services, Concept to Developed Designs, Planting Schemes, LEMPs, BNG plans, and Green Infrastructure Plans, independently or as a subconsultant if you're lacking in time or technical skillset.
We work with you from evaluating whether your proposals are feasible to developing design solutions alongside or leading a wider team, testing and refining them through the LVIA process and providing plans and reports for planning submission and condition discharge. For those with a site by the sea or on a river we are qualified power boat operators, so those water based viewpoints are all dealt with in house. We try to avoid planning refusal but if it happens we'll work through the appeal process with you. For selected projects we can provide support during the tender and construction process.
Our approach is based on an experienced, objective analysis of a situation, transparent robust reporting that is proportionate to the development in question, and providing positive and pragmatic solutions to design constraints. Landscape is something we all use and have an opinion on and a development project is rarely simple, our job is to use our knowledge and experience to make your life that bit easier.
We've worked with individual land owners, schools, community groups, Parish and Town Councils, and small and large scale developers, on everything from single residential properties to mixed use developments and eco-towns, taking in school grounds, community housing, neighbourhood planning, regeneration projects, roads and renewables in between. We have a Building With Nature Assessor in house for those projects looking to incorporate larger scale green infrastructure elements and the ability to translate these to smaller schemes as well.
We want the developments we work on to benefit their users as well as the environment in which they sit, that's our legacy.
We don't do upselling but if we feel your project would genuinely benefit from a service we can't cover in house we have a collection of trusted collaborators across heritage, architecture, arboriculture, ecology, soils, and planning to put you in touch with.
